The iControl System requires a broadband Internet connection from a DSL or cable provider. The iControl System does not support Satellite connections.

- Will I need to install special software?
Your iControl System is accessible using the browser on your PC/Mac or web-enabled mobile phone. No software is required.

- Do I need a computer to use my iControl System?
You only need an iControl Box, a router, a broadband Internet connection, and your choice of devices to begin using your iControl System.
If you wish to add a wireless camera to your iControl System, a PC/Mac is required to connect the camera to your network, after which no computer is required.

- Do I need to leave my home of office computer on at all times to use my iControl System?
iControl does not require connection to a dedicated computer.

- Do I need a router or a similar device?
Your iControl System requires a router using standard DCHP protocol, or a local area network (LAN). Either device requires one available Ethernet port in which to connect your iControl Box.

- Does my iControl system work with any camera?
The iControl System works only with iControl tested and certified IP-based cameras available in the “Buy Now” section of this website.

- Are iControl cameras and devices suitable for outdoor use?
iControl cameras and devices are not rated for outdoor use. iControl cameras and devices positioned near windows and aimed outwardly will provide the desired coverage.

- Will I need a network connection for my iControl camera?
The iControl Wired Camera requires an Ethernet port on a router or a local network (LAN). The iControl Wireless Camera requires a wireless connection to a wireless router or a local network (LAN).
